This unit had the same problem, no sound. I took it to a professional, and he did not read the installation book. There for he hooked up wires that I did not ( power antenna ) and made the unit work. 1 Hour labor #75.

Not sure what all the 4- and 5-star reviewers are listening to, but it’ snot the XHD6420. The sound isn’t anything to jump up and down about, the HD receiver has a hard time keeping a signal, and the .mp3 playback is the pickiest I’ve ever used–sometimes it works, other times it spits out the same CD that worked fine before. Spend an extra $20 and get the comparable Sony model instead.

I got this for my wife as a replacment to her original stereo. She loves it! She has found that the music that it produces is wonderful, and it is very easy to learn to use. In addition, she has totally fallen in love with the ability to plug in her MP3 player and use it as well. Great product!

The first radio I sent back for warranty repair. The radio had a problem when the outside temp was over 95′F, the radio stop working. Second problem is the radio has “weak sensitivity” performance. Switching the radio between DX or Local, there seems to be no big differences. My previous radio had no problem with this radio station. I even called the radio station to see if they are experiencing any problem with station output power, which they answer no. Well I received the new radio from the vendor repair company which is missing the remote, thanks. The new radio also has the same problem with poor sensitivity. As for the HD there should be a shut off button. The reason is the radio automatically switches from analog to digital signal. The problem again if you are in a weak signal area the radio jumps in and out of HD mode which is very irritating. I’m going retuning the radio as soon I get the remote from the repair house. I guess you get what you pay for from China.
